Product Description

This is possibly the world's lightest wheelset! Hand built by Skunkworks Wheels (WA, US). At 614g for the pair, we've never seen anything close to this!

The 23mm wide rims are custom by Light Bicycle, 183/187g, with a solid rim bed for added stiffness. The spokes are Lmtos carbon FH005, 2.3/1.6mm bladed. The hubs are modified Extralite CyberFront + CyberRear SP2. Nipples are composite.

These rim brake wheels have no added brake track, as they are intended for race-day only hillclimb events, recommended rider weight limit of 80kg.

Rims: Light Bicycle 25mm deep carbon rims, 23mm external width. Tubular compatible. These rims weigh 183/187 grams with a solid rim bed for added stiffness. The rims do not have a dedicated brake track.

Spokes: LMTOS carbon FH005, 2.3/1.6mm bladed carbon spokes. Front wheel has 16 spokes, and the rear wheel has 20 spokes. The nipples are made from a composite material

Hubs: Extralite CyberFront and CyberRear SP2. The hub axles are custom carbon creations.  

Freehub: Pictured with a Shimano/Sram 11-speed freehub. May be able to swap for Campagnolo or Sram XDR 12-speed freehub at buyer's request - message with requests before purchasing. The freehub has been tuned to shave a few extra grams. A new, unmodified freehub body is included as well. 

Axle spacing:  Front QR x 100mm, Rear QR x 130mm.

Cosmetic Condition: This wheelset is brand new. 

Freehub condition: No cassette bite on the freehub.

Bearing condition: The hub bearings are smooth (At CyclingUpgrades we service or replace any rough hub or freehub bearings we encounter in the inspection and cleaning process).

Front wheel lateral runout: 0.4mm

Rear wheel lateral runout: 0.4mm

Weight: Front 260 grams, rear 354 grams = 614 grams total weight (state if weight includes tubeless valve stems or not). For tubulars also reference the manufacturer claimed weight.

Tires: N/A
